like “A kiss from Tokyo” it’s all 2D and All After Effects (we’ve got some precious help from Sung-Jin Ahn who produced some amazing dance animations in flash) .
Cyrille Marchesseau created a great score inspired by an old Japanese pop song.

This release goes along with the opening of the pre-ordering of the new book “Looks that kill” by Kevin Dart and Elizabeth Ito.

Yuki 7 and the Gadget Girls © 2011 Kevin Dart

A title sequence I directed for the pilote of an unproduced TV series created by Pete Candeland and writer Stu Connolly for Cartoon Network.

I worked with Kevin Dart who designed the creatures and some backgrounds. Lionel Marchand animated the characters and Ben Locket composed the music.

It’s all made with Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.

As you can see, it’s a tribute to all the Sci Fi/Horror movies from the 50′s.

It was so exciting working with such talented people and being so free and trusted!

The lighting was originally intended to evoke a sense of an old game show stage after hours, think Price Is Right Showcase after the lights have gone down. Although it did evolve, it should still capture that low-lighting feeling.

Color correction was performed in After Effects to try and achieve the look of an old photograph. The popular “Instagram” presets were a big inspiration.

Mental Ray was the primary renderer and Adobe products were used for texturing, compositing, and editing.
